A place to call home in the heart of Ivanhoe 15–17 Livingstone Street

Iva is a contemporary, yet respectful addition to Livingstone Street, sitting comfortably within the established neighbourhood. The mix of one, two and three-bedroom luxury residences all enjoy spacious bedrooms and genuinely luxurious bathrooms. Neighbourhood views have been accentuated through expansive windows, flooding living areas with natural light. All residences are complemented by a generously sized courtyard garden or terrace.

Boasting an average internal size of 116sqm for three bedrooms and 91sqm for two bedroom, Iva is an opportunity not to be missed.

Designed to sit comfortably in its surroundings. Inspired by Ivanhoe’s streetscapes.

The red-brick podium is comprised of the first two floors of luxury one, two and three-bedroom residences, while levels three and four — stepping back respectfully from the facade — are wrapped in a rich cream-coloured sandstone. These hardy materials will stand the test of time, and continue the traditions of Ivanhoe’s grand old civic and residential buildings — where red brick and cream render abound.

Our interior designer Wendy Bergman — of Melbourne-based practice Bergman & Co — had one guiding principle for Iva: to create interiors that embody a perfect marriage of the classic and the contemporary.

Just like the exterior architecture, internally the residences have perfect proportions, with plenty of room for those key furniture pieces you’ve collected over the years.

Australian Chocolate Emporium 235 Upper Heidelberg Road

Liz Boyden, owner of the Australian Chocolate Emporium, has a true passion for chocolate. Having spent several years working for Haigh’s and Ernest Hillier, she set up her own online business and before long opened the Australian Chocolate Emporium in Ivanhoe — now a local favourite.

The store has a huge selection of Australian chocolates and confectionery, including Newman’s, Pink Lady and Kennedy & Wilson. However the stand-out is the comprehensive range of Ernest Hillier Chocolates. Founded in 1914 and produced in North Coburg, it is Australia’s first chocolate manufacturer and the oldest privately owned chocolatier still in operation.

“We stock it because it’s traditional, authentic, character-driven chocolate that suits a mature palette, and we know the locals love it.”

Austral Piano World 245–247 Lower Heidelberg Road

Hans Heshusius, owner of Austral Piano World, has decades of experience and a deep passion for pianos. He believes that a piano must not only look good in a home, but should sound great too. Working with his customers, Hans assesses the pianist to find the instrument that fits their personal skill level, and their expectations. With this understanding Austral Piano World has an extensive range of grand pianos, acoustic uprights and digital pianos to suit the individual.

The highlight would undoubtedly be the Kawai GL20 Baby Grand Piano. With features usually only found in larger grand pianos, this is a powerful instrument in a more-compact form — perfect for downsizers.

“The GL20 Baby Grand is a potent performer with a petite profile. We stock it because it’s a popular choice for discerning locals who have a genuine love for fine music.”
Kincaid. We’re a local developer and builder.

Ivanhoe is our home. Kincaid’s key principals grew up here and we’re now raising our own kids here. Developers don’t get more local than that. We work on residential developments across Melbourne’s North East, including our recent John Street Ivanhoe project, and understand what it means to live here, and what makes it great.

We have over 50 years’ combined experience in the building industry and have developed strong, long-lasting relationships with the best in the business. We’re at the leading edge of architecture and interiors, always producing timeless, elegant developments that suit their surroundings, and add to the community and to the urban fabric.

We oversee all aspects of the development process, and we take genuine care of each and every home we create. From vision to completion we have a local focus, which means better homes and better buildings.
